The Houston Texans have one of the brightest Futures in the entire NFL. There aren't many others, if any, whose future shines brighter. Think about this:
They were a three-win team last season, and then this year, they made the playoffs with a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback.
Recently, the Texans were acknowledged for their great draft this past year, filled with two really elite players and others who can be great pieces in playoff teams.
According to the Pro Football Writers Association, this means the Texans have the best rookie class in the league, only helping our prior statement about their future.
According to PFWA, the Texans had two rookies win prestigious awards that show the Texans have an even brighter future than some may think. Quarterback C.J. Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while Will Anderson Jr. won Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The Texans are set up to be very successful over the next few years, and seeing what Stroud, who plays arguably the hardest position in sports, makes it all even better. They have a guy who is pretty clearly the franchise quarterback for years and years to come. Stroud is already a top-10 quarterback in this league.
Meanwhile, Will Anderson was easily the best defensive rookie in the entire class. It took him a while to get going in terms of the numbers, but he was a presence in the pass rush and run-stop categories all year long. He is going to be a real problem.
And now, the Texans still have a ton of cap space, along with a ton of draft picks next year. They should only get better.
