Lamar Jackson rose to the occasion in the Baltimore Ravens’ AFC divisional round win over the Houston Texans.
The Texans had quite a difficult time containing Jackson both in the air and on the ground throughout the contest. He threw a pair of touchdown passes and also rushed for 100 yards and two rushing scores.
Tom Brady tuned in to watch Jackson’s potent performance against the Texans, and he continues to be left in awe at just how easy the sixth-year passer makes it look on the field.
"This isn’t like a new style of play, he just does it in an amazing, he’s just a tremendous player," Brady said on the "Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray" podcast. "His ability to extend plays and he’s an incredible passer on the run. … They built it around Lamar for good reason because that’s what you do when you have a great quarterback, you build this system around them.
"… I’m sure the coach doesn’t always know what’s going to happen. The fans don’t. And I don’t think Lamar always knows what’s going to happen, but you trust that in the end, his athleticism and his instincts are going to take you where you want to get."
Next up for Jackson and the Ravens is an AFC title game showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady noted that the Chiefs will have their "work cut out for them" in attempting to contain Jackson on Sunday.
The Ravens are looking to clinch a spot in the Super Bowl for the first time in the Lamar Jackson era.
