Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett has crossed another award off his list that he had never won.

Garrett was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the NFL by Pro Football Writers of America.

Additionally, Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was named Most Valuable Player and San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was named the Offensive Player of the Year.

PFWA had already named Garrett to the All-NFL and All-NFC teams. There are still the NFL Honors to be had on Feb. 7, where Garrett could add to his resume.

With the Browns this season, Garrett had 14 sacks and four forced fumbles. The sacks are down from the 16 that he had each of the past two seasons, though he is still as great of a pass rusher as he’s ever been. Garrett is the toughest edge player to gameplan against for offenses and that seemingly is being factored in.

Another accolade has come about for Garrett, who just finished up season No. 7 in the NFL. It’ll be interesting to see what else he can add. Browns’ fans have a Hall of Fame level player right in front of them in his prime, it would be smart to enjoy that kind of player while you can. He truly has been a generational talent for Cleveland.
