The Buffalo Bills earned the victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. But one play could have given the Steelers a slight chance to come back.
However, a controversial no-call gave the Bills the ball back and allowed them to solidify the win. And George Pickens was visibly upset about this play.
Not only did he react on the sidelines immediately after the play, but he also spoke about it in the locker room.
“Refs. Refs. Refs. That's the only thing on my mind," Pickens told reporters in the locker room. "You not going to win a game when you have to beat the Bills and the refs… That's what I really feel happened to us today."
On 4th and 3 with just under five minutes remaining in the game, Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph tried to located Pickens. However Bills' Dane Jackson got in the way, and many thought it should have been a defensive pass interference call.
But the officials never threw a flag.
Going over to the sidelines, Pickens threw his helmet on the ground.
This has been an emotional season for the receiver, and it did not end the way he would have wanted. I would also expect Pickens to get hit with a fine for those comments.
