The Indianapolis Colts are in the process of evaluating their current roster and deciding the best ways to improve for 2024.

And a popular move being pitched by Colts fans is the idea of trading for Philadelphia Eagles superstar WR A.J. Brown.

Many have said that the NFL is a copycat league. One example of this has been the trend of teams trading for a star WR to add to their teams while they have a QB on a rookie contract. Some examples that come to mind would be Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals, Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, and A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the Colts didn't get to see even half a rookie season from Anthony Richardson, the team firmly believes they have found their next franchise QB. So it leads one to question whether or not the Colts could look to make that win-now-type move for a veteran star WR to give Richardson and their offense a significant boost. The Colts would be an interesting situation as they will likely extend or place the franchise tag on WR Michael Pittman Jr. this offseason. This could allow them to form one of the best duos in the NFL at the WR spot if they decided to make a move for a veteran WR.

With how the Eagles season ended, many have begun to wonder if a player like A.J. Brown could be made available this offseason. The talented WR had another stellar season this year, as he went for over 1,400 yards for the 2nd straight season. Even before being eliminated from the playoffs, Brown had scrubbed his social media accounts, which many view as one of the steps toward a player requesting a trade. And the Colts seem like a possible fit for Brown since his offensive coordinator with the Eagles in 2022, Shane Steichen, is now the head coach of the Colts.

Paying two WRs top dollar would be shocking for many Colts fans, as they haven't seen Ballard even pay one yet. But if they want to capitalize on Richardson and his rookie contract window, it could be a perfect opportunity to do just that. If the Colts elected to go this route, it would likely cost at least their first-round pick this year, which falls at pick 15 and likely an additional pick. When Brown was traded from the Titans to the Eagles, he went for the 18th (1st round) and 101st (3rd round) picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

So, knowing the price and the outcomes that teams mentioned above, like the Bills, Cardinals, Dolphins, and Eagles, have had with similar trades. Do you think the Colts should trade for A.J. Brown?
