The Los Angeles Chargers are making consistent work of their head coaching search. They've interviewed or requested interviews for many candidates. Michigan Wolverines HC Jim Harbaugh has been the heavy favorite for the job in recent days, but they have not completed all of their interviews yet.
On Thursday, they announced that they interviewed former Stanford Cardinal HC David Shaw for their head coach opening.
Shaw held the HC position at Stanford from 12 seasons from 2011-2022. He did not coach in 2023.
He has a rich history as an offensive mind in football. Shaw is the winningest coach in Stanford history. His record in 12 seasons as HC is 96-54. The veteran coach won PAC-12 coach of the year four times with the Cardinal.
Shaw has NFL experience as an assistant with the then Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens. He played college ball at Stanford where he was a wide receiver.
