Mike Disner sent a resounding message to the Carolina Panthers on Saturday.

The Detroit Lions' chief operating officer withdrew his name from consideration for the Panthers' open general manager position, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported.

Disner's withdrawal from consideration came after Pelissero reported the Panthers are moving into the second phase of their general manager search.

The names that made the cut for the Panters' next phase of the general manager search included the following: New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown, Philadelphia Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby and Panthers assistant general manager Dan Morgan.

During the 2023 offseason, Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson withdrew his name from consideration for the Panthers' head coaching position.

Now the Panthers can say they missed out on Detroit's best again.
