Sunday, Jan. 21 wasn't just a significant day for the Kansas City Chiefs franchise, it was also an important day for one of their star players.

Sure, K.C. punched their ticket to their sixth consecutive AFC Championship Game with a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills. They also celebrated a pretty important birthday on the defensive side of the ball.

27 years ago on that day, Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed was born.

The NFL sent Sneed a birthday gift after the game, and it was a memorable one, but it's memorable for all the wrong reasons. It might even be one of the worst birthday gifts ever given.

Yeah, that's right, the NFL is drug testing Sneed after the divisional round win over the Bills. The NFL can "randomly" drug test any of their players at any time to see if they're been consuming performance-enhancing substances. Sneed probably has a legitimate gripe here, but the message from the league is that if you don't want to get tested, don't play well. Sneed can't catch a Pro Bowl nod or All-Pro selection, but he's sure as hell good enough to get drug tested.

Sneed entered the playoff game having not surrendered a single touchdown this season. That stat ended on Sunday when he surrendered a 13-yard receiving touchdown to Bills WR Khalil Shakir. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the NFL from sending Sneed notice that he'd be drug tested. And his message on X (formerly Twitter) suggests that this isn't the first time this season.
