The Seattle Seahawks have finally found their next head coach.

The Seahawks are "expected to hire" Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their new head coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The two sides are still "finalizing the deal," but in the end, Macdonald will become the NFL’s youngest head coach at 36.

The Seahawks had to wait until after the conference championship game round of the playoffs to first touch base with Macdonald. They conducted an in-person interview with the second-year defensive coordinator earlier this week and scheduled another such interview with him on Wednesday.

Macdonald garnered much head coaching interest over the past month. For one, the Commanders hosted the defensive-minded coach for virtual interviews and in-person interviews earlier this month. In the end, Macdonald decided to take his talents to Seattle.

Macdonald anchored the NFL’s No. 1 ranked defense this year. The Ravens led the league in multiple stats in the regular season, from points per game allowed (16.5) to total sacks (60). Baltimore’s well-rounded defense also allowed a combined two touchdown drives to the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.

For the Ravens, they are now set to open up a search for their next defensive coordinator.
