The Baltimore Ravens will soon have a notable decision to make regarding Geno Stone’s future with the team.
Stone signed a one-year deal with the Ravens last March. He was projected to round out Baltimore’s depth within its secondary, but the all-around safety ended up surpassing expectations this season.
Stone’s golden opportunity of the 2023 season came in Baltimore’s road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals when he was called to fill in for Marcus Williams. Stone made the most out of his chance to shine with a nine tackles and one interception outing against Cincinnati.
Stone finished with seven interceptions and a 63.8 passer rating allowed in coverage mark in regular season play.
Free agency now awaits Stone, and he is expected to have multiple options in the coming months, from staying put in Baltimore to electing to become a go-to starter elsewhere.
“Like I said, I’m just going to wait and see” Stone said on Monday. “It's something I’ll have to talk to my agent, and we’ll talk with teams about. I’m not going to think about it right now. At the end of the day, I know where my value is and stuff like that, but it is what it is. I appreciate this organization.
“My role is my role here, and whatever options I have next, whatever it is – if I’m here or not here or somewhere else – at the end of the day, I’ll still be me.”
It will be noteworthy to see just what Stone ends up deciding to do in the coming months.
