Some roster shuffling went down for the Cleveland Browns a day before they began preparing for the Week 10 game against the Ravens.

Cleveland placed LT Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) and CB Cameron Mitchell (hamstring) on the injured reserve. Both players will be eligible to return on Dec. 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In corresponding moves, the Browns have added WR/PR James Proche and OT Geron Christian to the active roster. Both players were call-ups from the practice squad.

Wills going on the short-term injured reserve is a bullet dodged with how bad the injury looked at first. He could potentially miss more than four weeks with the MCL injury, but the good news is he will return this season.

Mitchell’s injury is a shot to the slot depth. The rookie started for Greg Newsome II in Week 9 due to injury, then was injured himself. Newsome is likely back in Week 10.

Proche made his debut with the Browns last week and showed that he can handle the punt return duties. Since the Browns traded WR Donovan Peoples-Jones to the Lions, there was a spot to add another receiver.

James Hudson is likely to start at left tackle with Wills out, but bringing Christian to the active roster gives them depth beyond their starters. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday that the team has ‘options’ at tackle.

Cleveland will practice tomorrow, the first of three before heading to Baltimore. Week 10 is a big opportunity for the Browns.
