The San Francisco 49ers have found their stride again after surviving some key injuries on offense, but now they might have a major one on defense.

All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga suffered a non-contact knee injury in the third quarter of their Week 11 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hufanga was taken to the locker room on a cart and was soon ruled out by the 49ers.

He suffered the injury on a play that saw Bucs running back Rachaad White made him miss on a reception out of the backfield.

Hufanga has three interceptions and three pass breakups in 2023 following a breakout 2022 season.

The 2021 fifth-round pick had four interceptions, nine pass breakups, two sacks, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in his second season and was named first-team All-Pro.

Rookie third-round pick Ji'Ayir Brown replaced him in the lineup and may now have a starting role for the most important stretch of the San Francisco's season.
