All of the Week 11 games that had a direct impact on the Indianapolis Colts have come to an end.
After all of them, the Colts remain in the same spot in the AFC rankings as they were when Week 11 began.
When this week started, the games that we knew would have the most significant impact on the Colts were:
- Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
- Arizona Cardinals @ Houston Texans
- New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
Bengals @ Ravens:
This outcome was exactly what the Colts needed, with the Bengals losing to the Ravens on Thursday Night Football. This would temporarily move the Colts into the 8th seed in the AFC, the first team out of the playoff picture. The following games wouldn't be as kind to the Colts, though.
Cardinals @ Texans:
The Cardinals were so close to pulling out the big upset to help the Colts but fell just short after turning it over on downs three straight possessions with the chance to win the game. Instead, the Texans squeaked by and improved to 6-4 on the year, making them a game ahead of the Colts.
Jets @ Bills:
For the Colts to remain in the 8th seed spot, they needed the Jets to pick up the win over the Bills. Something they had already done earlier this season, but this time around, they wouldn't finish with the same result. The Jets fell behind early, and their lackluster offense was never truly able to get going this week. It would end with a loss, which catapulted the Bills ahead of the Colts in the AFC into the 8th spot.
Current AFC Standings:
1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2)
2. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)
4. Miami Dolphins (7-3)
5. Cleveland Browns (7-3)
6. Houston Texans (6-4)
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)
8. Buffalo Bills (6-5)
9. Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
10. Denver Broncos (5-5)
11. Cincinnati Bengals (5-5)
12. Las Vegas Raiders (5-6)
