Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson didn’t play all that well in the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he stepped up when the Cleveland Browns needed him most.

For that, head coach Kevin Stefanski is handing him the keys to the offense once again in Week 12. The rookie will start on the road for the first time in a tough environment against the Denver Broncos.

In addition to choosing a quarterback for Week 12, Stefanski gave an update on where newly signed QB Joe Flacco will fit in.

"Joe's role is to support this team,” Stefanski said during his Monday availability. “He'll be great for that room. He'll be great for this team."

Flacco has played a ton of football and will add a veteran presence that could be valuable with Deshaun Watson out for the season. Clearly, the Browns believe he can play if need be too, or else they wouldn’t have signed him.

"Workout looked good. Kept himself in good shape. Just a guy that has seen a lot, and has played in different systems. Feel like he can bring value to that room."

After finishing 24-of-43 passing against the Steelers for just 165 yards, Thompson-Robinson is going to have to push the ball downfield more if the Browns offense doesn’t want to be handicapped.

The game against the Broncos will give a better feel on what the quarterback position will look like down the stretch. Certainly, the hope is that DTR can continue to develop and hold it down.
