Carolina Panthers Frank Reich knows his job is on the line.
He just doesn't want anyone asking about him.
On Monday, after another Panthers drubbing — this time at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys — Reich was asked about his job security. And his answer indicated that he isn't worried about what may happen at all.
"I’m just focused on getting ready for Tennessee,” Reich said. "This is a week-to-week league. And we all know what we sign up for when we get into this business. I’m comfortable with that. Just keep working, put your head down, and focus on your work. So I don’t think that’s not a distraction.”
Coming into the Week 11 matchup, the Panthers ownership said they wanted to see improvement on the offensive end. The opposite seems to have happened.
Bryce Young has continued regressing, and the offense only scored one touchdown in a 33-10 loss.
This came after Reich took over play-calling duties from young and promising offensive coordinator Thomas Brown.
The switch didn't yield any results. Carolina is continuing its painful slide into irrelevancy. But somehow, Reich doesn't seem all too worried about the backslide.
Some may call that foreshadowing.
