On the heels of a video game-like performance against the Detroit Lions, Lamar Jackson did not manage to follow it up with an encore showing in the Baltimore Ravens’ road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jackson had a quiet but efficient outing in Week 8. The two-time Pro Bowler threw one touchdown pass and posted a 94.2 passer rating against Arizona. He also rushed the football five times for 17 rushing yards in the contest.

Jackson still ended up improving his odds for the 2023 NFL MVP award.

Jackson remains among the serious contenders for this season’s NFL MVP honor. He currently holds the fourth-best odds (+600) to win the NFL’s most prestigious individual honor, which is a bit up from last week (+700).

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still the betting favorite to become a three-time NFL MVP winner. His current odds for the annual award sit at +270. He is just coming off of a sluggish showing in the Chiefs’ road loss to the Denver Broncos where he threw a pair of interceptions and logged a 59.2 passer rating.

Jackson and the Ravens will look to make it four wins in a row when they host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.
