Well, you wouldn't be wrong.
In fact, the lack of execution just reached a new low, although it's intertwined with an amazing feat:
How Is That Possible?
Yes, you read that correctly. Per Elias Sports and ESPN Stats and Info, the Steelers are only the 34th team in the history of the NFL to have their offense be outgained by an opposing team through the first eight games.
But they are the one and only team to do so with a winning record, at 5-3.
Part of me wants to applaud the defense and just crown them as if they're the 85' Bears. But another part of me just wants to think this offense is some bad nightmare that we will wake up from soon enough.
But that's not the case. The offense put together one of their better performances on Thursday night, especially on the ground. Yet the team still failed to execute at an explosive or efficient level offensively, once again relying on late-game heroics to pull out the W.
But hey a win is a win, and as Coach T would say "We won't apologize for winning."
