So, let's talk about him.
Sweat came up huge in the Eagles' win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 with a sack on Dak Prescott late in the fourth quarter that helped close out the victory.
"No surprise. Sweaty doesn’t get acknowledged enough, he doesn’t get talked about enough," Mailata said of Sweat's big-time sack. "Hopefully after this game they can start talking about him and putting him up there with Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett. That guys is a premier edge rusher."
Sweat has been coming up big for the Eagles all season long.
Through nine weeks, Sweat has 46 pressures, 30 QB hurries, 9 QB hits, 6.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles (per Pro Football Focus).
His best play has come in the last quarter as he currently leads the NFL in 4th quarter pressures with 23. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is next in line with 16 pressures in the final quarter.
Philly's defense hasn't been something to gloat over, considering how bad their secondary has looked.
The Eagles' defense currently ranks 19th in total defense, but if it weren't for Sweat and the other guys along the defensive line, they'd sit much lower in the rankings.
"Josh Sweat just continues to have a really impressive year," head coach Nick Sirianni said. "Those two guys feed off each other, Josh and [LB] Haason [Reddick], because it’s hard to take one away. If you pay attention too much to one, the other guy makes a play. And so, man, I wouldn’t want anyone else rushing the passer besides the guys that we have."
Next up for the Eagles is a road match against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night where Sweat and his teammates will try to take down quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has been sacked just 12 times time season.
