The Las Vegas Raiders first drive in their home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers wasn't great. They got the ball to Davante Adams to extend his consecutive games with a reception streak to 117, which is more than impressive.
However, the next drive was amazing. Adams went 3/4 on the drive with 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. The drive was basically all him, as Jimmy Garoppolo just kept feeding him.
That one touchdown was one for the books, too.
"With that touchdown, Adams notches his 30th primetime touchdown reception, becoming the seventh player in NFL history to reach 30 career touchdown receptions in primetime games. He has also now recorded a touchdown reception in each of his past 13 games on Sunday Night Football," the Raiders PR team tweeted during the game.
To start, before halftime, Davante Adams already has enough stats to beat out most receivers this week.
When you think about that stat, along with the consecutive games with a reception stat, it just boggles your mind because of how good Adams has been and how consistent he has been. You can make a case for him to be the best receiver in the league every year.
You can't say that about too many guys.
