Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn's injury could be worse than initially thought.

Wednesday, Panthers head coach Frank Reich gave an update regarding Horn's condition, and in it, he said that Horn is expected to miss a substantial amount of time, might need surgery, and could end up on the injury reserve.

Horn went down in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons due to a non-contact Hamstring injury.

Once Horn left the game, the Panthers went on to lose the game 24-10. And without Horn, questions about the Panthers' secondary will only continue to grow.

Due to the extended absence, the Panthers are expected to add another cornerback ahead of Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

The roster sits at 52 players currently.

Horn has seen a lengthy history of injuries during his NFL career. As a rookie, he suffered a foot injury that landed him on injured reserve. Last season Horn suffered a midseason chest injury. He also dealt with an ankle sprain during the offseason this year.

Cornerback C.J. Henderson is expected to start against the Saints.

Horn has 18 games in his first two seasons with injuries.
