The Denver Broncos have their first win of the 2023 NFL season and it ends an embarrassing streak of road game losses.

Denver hasn't won many games recently as it is, but their record on the road has been a massive effort in futility. It doesn't matter if it was Vic Fangio, Nathaniel Hackett, Jerry Rosburg, or Sean Payton coaching the team, this group has been flat-out horrible at getting wins on the road. With their latest win against the Chicago Bears, they've now won their first road game in the United States after 13 consecutive losses on the road.

Prior to the Week 4 win in Chicago, you had to go back to the 2021 NFL season to find the last time the Broncos have won a road game on U.S. soil. They did have a 21-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in a neutral stadium in London a year ago, but they hadn't won a road game in their home country since their 30-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys back in Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season.

Payton put his foot in his mouth ahead of the season when he called out former Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett and the coaching job done just a season ago. But with his latest win, maybe it's a sign that the tides are changing for Denver.

The Broncos were down big at halftime, but they stayed composed on both sides of the ball and came roaring back to victory in Chicago. An interception late in the fourth quarter would cement a 31-28 victory over the Bears. They still have plenty of problems to figure out on the defensive side of the ball, but they at least now have a silver lining as they move to 1-3 on the season.

They also can put that terrible road game streak behind them. Perhaps they'll snap their losing streak against Kansas City next?
