On Sunday, Maxx Crosby just put on a clinic in the Las Vegas Raiders close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Yes, there is plenty to be mad about, like the fact that the Raiders are 1-3 now, but it's safe to say we can see this is a bad team.
So, let's see if we can focus on some positives this time around and the fact that the Raiders still have one of the best defensive ends in the league. There is a guy in this game who had a better game in that Khalil Mack, a former Raider, nearly broke the record for most sacks in a game, but Crosby was fantastic as well.
Crosby was the main reason the Raiders even had a chance to get back in the game on Sunday. His two sacks led the team, but one of them was late in the fourth quarter, which only helped the offense have an even better field position when they took over.
The real play came when he stuffed the fourth and one quarterback sneak.
According to the Raiders PR team on Twitter, Crosby had his 18th game with multiple tackles for loss, the 2nd most in the NFL since 2019, only behind T.J. Watt (20). He is also one of nine NFL players since 1999 to record 18 or more games of 2+ tackles for loss. His 69 career tackles for loss is the most by a Raiders defender in franchise history through 70 career games.
They also tweeted that Crosby had his 9th career game with 2.0+ sacks, tied for the 5th most two-sack games in the NFL since 2019, and tied for the 5th most two-sack games in Raiders history.
I think it's safe to say that Maxx Crosby is a dawg, as the kids say. Sure, there isn't a whole lot of fun going on right now, but to make light of it all, how about we appreciate how good Crosby is?
