Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (5) celebrates a touchdown during the second half of the game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Colts lost in overtime, 29-23.

Anthony Richardson has only played in nine NFL quarters but has done something no QB has ever done in their first three NFL games.

Richardson became the first QB in NFL history to score a rushing touchdown in each of his first three career games.

At the most recent NFL scouting combine, Anthony Richardson tested as the most athletic QB to ever test at the event. But still, it is shocking that he is able to accomplish a feat that none of the league's premier mobile QBs have been able to do before. Some mobile quarterbacks to think about to put this stat in perspective:

  • Michael Vick
  • Randall Cunningham
  • Cam Newton
  • Lamar Jackson
  • Steve Young

Richardson's play is already proving his scouting combine performance not to be a flook. He is physically gifted, and head coach Shane Steichen is not afraid to use his quarterbacks strengths to his advantage when it comes to playcalling. It'll be exciting to see how the Colts continue to utilize Richardson's mobility in the future.
