No defense has been able to contain Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson both in the air and on the ground this season. Jackson is just coming off of a formidable performance in the Ravens’ 28-3 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 4 where he tallied four total touchdowns.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be the next team to have a crack at slowing down Jackson this season. Steelers linebacker Markus Golden has never squared off with the two-time Pro Bowler, but he is well aware of the challenge that will come Pittsburgh's way in Week 5.
"It's just locking in on what we've got to do this week," Golden said ahead of Week 5. "We're playing a great quarterback in Lamar Jackson, so we're going to have some things to do to make sure we contain him. So just locking in on your job. I just know we have to lock in on our jobs and go out there and get ready.
"He is a great quarterback. He is one of the most electric players in the NFL and you have to be ready to plan for that."
The Steelers have had Jackson’s number for years now, especially as the sixth-year quarterback has thrown six interceptions in five career games played against Pittsburgh. He last faced the Steelers in Week 13 of the 2021 season when he recorded one interception and an 80.1 passer rating in a 20-19 loss for Baltimore.
Overall, the Steelers have come away with a win in five out of their last six meetings against the Ravens.
