Former Tennessee Vols edge rusher Byron Young is off to a great start in his rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Through the first four games of his NFL career, Young, a third-round selection by the Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft, has totaled two sacks, 16 tackles, and 16 total pressures.
Thanks to his strong start, Young was named this week to The Athletic's early-season All-Rookie team.
The Athletic's Diante Lee thinks Young could prove to be a "major steal" for the Rams.
From The Athletic: Young is in the same cluster as (Will) Anderson and (Tuli) Tuipulotu, as he leads all rookies in total pressures (16) and pressure rate (15 percent). If he stays healthy, he can be another major steal by the Rams as their roster pivots.
Young hasn't even come close to reaching his potential. The former Tennessee standout almost didn't have a path to the NFL before landing at Georgia Military College and eventually UT.
Once the South Carolina native got his chance, he didn't waste it. And now Young is poised to be a key player for the Rams for years to come.
