The Baltimore Ravens may need to prepare to play their Week 3 home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts under horrid weather conditions.

The National Hurricane Center announced "Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen" on Thursday. The tropical storm warning was issued from Cape Fear, North Carolina up to Fenwick Island, Delaware.

The potential effects of the storm could result in heavy rain — ranging between two and three inches — that may lead to flash flooding. The NHC’s tropical storm advisory also noted that winds are expected to reach up to a maximum of 35 mph for sustained speeds.

"Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen" could end up impacting not only the Ravens’ clash with the Colts on Sunday but also the New York Jets’ home matchup against the New England Patriots and the Washington Commanders’ encounter with the Buffalo Bills at FedEx Field. It is not known whether the NFL has considered postponing any of these three contests.

The last time that an NFL regular season game was greatly impacted by severe weather conditions came in Week 11 of the 2022 season. Due to a winter storm in Buffalo, the Bills’ home game against the Cleveland Browns was moved to Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.

For now, the Ravens’ upcoming game against the Colts is scheduled to go as planned.
