The dynamic matchup between two of the most athletic players to ever play the QB position is in jeopardy of not happening this week.

As Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson may have to miss this week's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson. Ian Rapport of NFL Network shared more details on this earlier today.

Due to the steps required via the NFL's concussion protocol, Richardson has to practice today to give himself a chance to play on Sunday. If he does not, he will officially be inactive due to not being able to clear protocol in time. If he practices today and the team finds a way for him to get another in Saturday after traveling to Baltimore. The last step would be a medical professional officially clearing him.

Even after all those steps, the Colts themselves could elect to hold Richardson out of this contest to ensure he is 100% for the team's Week 4 matchup. This past week, they chose to keep TE Drew Ogletree off the field even though he cleared protocol, and the safety of their franchise QB is likely to be something they handle even more delicately.
