After a week in which much talk centered on whether the Baltimore Ravens would live up to the hype on the offensive side of the ball, Lamar Jackson sure ended up silencing such doubters in Week 2.
Jackson led the way in the Ravens’ 27-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Whether it was in the air or on the ground, Cincinnati's defense did not have much of an answer for the two-time Pro Bowler, as he tallied 237 passing yards, 54 rushing yards, and two touchdown passes.
Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman watched the Ravens pick up their second win of the season. During Monday’s airing of FOX Sports 1’s "Undisputed" program, Sherman shared glowing reviews of Jackson’s overall performance in Week 2, especially the passer’s 52-yard completion to Zay Flowers.
"Lamar Jackson is showing his MVP form," Sherman said. "I mean that throw to Zay Flowers was unbelievable. … And it's from the pocket. Clean pocket, dime, on the money. You can't throw it better than that.
"And you always talk about Lamar being known for being mobile and running the ball and doing all that, they was talking about him as a running back. I ain't never seen a running back throw it like that."
Overall, Sherman was left impressed with the Ravens' statement victory against the Bengals.
"It was a great win for that team," Sherman said. "They're starting to look like the old Baltimore Ravens."
The Ravens have a home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts coming up in Week 3.
