Philadelphia Eagles running back D'Andre Swift had a night to remember on Thursday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings.
In just his second debut with the Eagles, Swift rushed for a career-high 175 yards and a score in the team's 34-28 victory.
With that performance, he was named Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his NFL career.
Prior to Week 2's matchup, Swift saw limited touches against the New England Patriots as a backup to Kenny Gainwell.
It was the perfect homecoming for the Philadelphia native, who had not logged over 17 carries since 2021 while playing for the Detroit Lions.
"D’Andre’s an explosive player and explosive playmaker," Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson said on Wednesday. He had really, really good vision. He did a great job staying square. All the guys in that room are excellent football players, and it was great to see D’Andre come out and have such a huge performance in the home opener back in Philly for him. So, I was really excited for his performance."
Swift also became the first Eagles player to log 175 rushing yards and a touchdown since LeSean McCoy in 2013.
He heads into Week 3's matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ranked third in the NFL for rushing yards behind San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey (268) and Atlanta Falcons first-round pick Bijan Robinson (178).
