The Las Vegas Raiders were dealt some interesting news on Thursday as their injury report came out. When it did, star defensive player Maxx Crosby was there, and no one really knew why, considering he is a player who is never there.
The initial thoughts were that it doesn't mean he won't play, but it doesn't mean he will play. Crosby doesn't miss many or any games; if he did miss this upcoming game, it would be the first of his NFL career.
But on Friday, McDaniels cleared everything up a bit.
"We have a number of guys, I would say, are, you know, three games in dealing with some bumps and bruises and those kinds of things," McDaniels told media on Friday. "I don't ever want to try to minimize them or put a timeline on anything. They're all working as hard as they can to get back out there as soon as possible.
"So, just trying to be smart with some of them, you know, I feel like there are some guys that would be better with a little bit of rest and not go out there and run around, and he was out there Wednesday, you know, just kind of just making smart decisions here with some of our guys."
So, essentially, McDaniels was letting Crosy rest. His streak of never missing a game during his NFL career isn't in jeopardy, as he will likely play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
