Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes knows all about making history.

On Friday night, his friend and neighbor across the parking lot got a chance to make some history of his own.

Kansas City Royals infielder Bobby Witt Jr. has seen quite the breakout campaign during his second season in the big leagues despite the team's overall struggles. With the baseball season coming to a close, Witt Jr. was closing in on a statistical record that no Royals player had ever achieved in the history of the franchise. After blasting a home run into deep left field in the seventh inning against the New York Yankees, Witt Jr. kicked off the 30-30 club for the Royals, boasting 30 home runs and 49 stolen bases on the season.

Mahomes was among the first to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, to congratulate him.

The No. 2 pick in the 2019 MLB draft didn't just claim a piece of Royals history with this home run, he also claimed a piece of MLB history as well. He became the first player ever to have 30 home runs, 10 triples, and 45 steals in a single season.

Of course, Mahomes and Witt Jr. know each other well. Outside of being two of the biggest stars in Kansas City sports, they both train with Bobby Stroupe in the offseason. They might have to change the slogan over there to something, those who train together, make history together. Rest assured, this won't be the last time we hear that either player has made history in their respective sports and leagues.
