The Las Vegas Raiders have reached a decision on star pass rusher Chandler Jones. Jones had recently been arrested on two counts of violating a temporary protection order.
Jones has been front and center in the national media with bizarre rants and the aforementioned arrest being made. Clearly, he's not okay and hopefully can get the help that he needs.
In the latest development, Adam Schefter broke the news that he has been released from the team. Reportedly, Jones hadn't been with the team since Labor Day weekend and was placed on the NFL's reserved/non-football illness list.
As Shefter had reported, Jones posted on social media on Monday that he was taken to a hospital "against my will" before being transferred to a behavioral health facility for further testing and evaluation.
Jones had signed with the Raiders last offseason to a contract worth about $17M a year but hadn't seen a single snap this year as his off-the-field controversies had forced him away from the game. Jones will finish his tenure with the Las Vegas Raiders with 15 games played, 38 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, and a memorable touchdown during a contest against the New England Patriots.
We will monitor this developing story and provide further details as they become available.
