The Tennessee Vols football program led the SEC in an impressive category during the 2023 regular season.
According to Bill Martin, Tennessee's Director of Strategic Communications, the Volunteers led the SEC in average attendance at football games in 2023 at 101,915 fans per home game. That was also the third-highest average attendance in the nation (behind Michigan and Penn State).
Tennessee averaged 101,915 fans per game by selling out Neyland Stadium for every home game.
The capacity at Neyland changed in 2022 from 102,455 to 101,915 due to stadium improvements.
Tennessee has now sold out every home dating back to their win against Akron in the third week of the 2022 season. The last game that wasn't sold out at Neyland was the Vols' season-opener against Ball State in 2022.
UT only sold out one game during the 2021 season (against Ole Miss), which was Josh Heupel's first season as the program's head coach.
