As the Carolina Panthers delve into who will be the team's next head coach, team owner David Tepper may give the college ranks another shot.

On Wednesday, Dianna Russini told Colin Cowherd on The Herd that Jim Harbaugh's name is being considered for the Panthers head coaching vacancy.

“Let’s just start with Carolina, alright?" Russini said. "You mentioned that David Tepper makes that firing last week with Frank Reich now out. If you remember, Tepper and Harbaugh had conversations last year. It obviously didn’t pan out, but this was something that they discussed. So that’s a name I’m hearing again.”

Harbaugh making the jump to the NFL again after a year of dysfunction and scandal at Michigan would make sense.

He also could be a coach with enough experience to stand up to Tepper, who is known to stick his nose in how the team functions.

But Harbough would still be taking over a franchise rife with struggles. The issues with Carolina run deeper than Frank Reich and the offensive scheme he attempted to install. Questions still linger regarding Bryce Young's ability to produce at the NFL level, and after a horrid rookie season, Harbaugh as a coach could be the person to finally reach the Panthers' No. 1 overall pick.

This is also the second coaching candidate to be linked to the Panthers. Recently, reports began to swirl about Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Carolina has a monumental decision to make in the offseason again. Time will tell if Tepper can make the right call.
