An elite player that's well-known to Tennessee Vols fans announced on Sunday evening that he plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen, a former five-star recruit who finished his high school career at Powell High School in Knox county, told On3 that he plans to enter the transfer portal.
Nolen hinted at entering the transfer portal last offseason, but he opted to stay at Texas A&M for the 2023 season.
Nolen totaled 37 tackles (8.5 tackles for loss) and four sacks for the Aggies this past season. He'll instantly be one of the most coveted players in the NCAA transfer portal. In fact, he'll likely incite an NIL bidding war among some of the top programs in the nation.
And that's a bidding war that Tennessee needs to take part in. Nolen is the type of player that can change a game in the trenches and the Vols could absolutely use his talent on Rocky Top.
