It's unclear how many, if any, opt outs there will be for the Citrus Bowl matchup between the Tennessee Vols and the Iowa Hawkeyes on New Year's Day, but that didn't stop ESPN from giving an early score prediction for the game.

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg made predictions for each bowl game and he isn't expecting a high-scoring game between Tennessee and Iowa in the Citrus Bowl.

Rittenberg has the Vols winning 23-16 against the Hawkeyes.

From ESPN: Brian Ferentz's final game as Iowa offensive coordinator will come against an opponent that will require some scoring from the Hawkeyes. Tennessee isn't nearly as potent as the 2022 team, but still averages 31.5 points per game. Both teams lack signature wins on their profiles, and Tennessee's performance against opponents with defenses like Iowa's isn't overly encouraging. But the Vols generally take care of the ball and will move it enough with quarterback Joe Milton III, running back Jaylen Wright and others. Iowa puts up a spirited effort, but the warts on offense are just too big to overcome. Prediction: Tennessee 23, Iowa 16

This will be the fourth meeting between Tennessee and Iowa. The Vols lead the series 2-1 and they've won the last two meetings (1987 and 2015).
