Week 13 brought the Cleveland Browns their second straight loss and dropped them to 7-5 on the season.
After losing to the Los Angeles Rams, 36-19, the Browns have taken a dip in the power rankings. Last week, the Browns were at No. 10 in the NFL power ranking, now they’re at No. 16 on the latest list.
Cleveland can end the losing streak at home in Week 14 where they’ve played well, but it is not going to be easy. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the better teams in the AFC.
“Last week: loss at Los Angeles Rams, 36–19
Next week: vs. JacksonvilleHere’s why I think the Joe Flacco thing can actually work: against the Rams’ pass rush, Flacco, on a third-and-medium at the beginning of the third quarter, double pumps and just as a pass rusher is closing in on him, flings an absolute dart for a first down. A few plays later, the Browns tied the game with a field goal. Obviously, the Rams began to pull away, but Flacco, outside of picking up first downs with his legs, is doing basically what the Browns want at the position. It could be enough.” – Conor Orr, Sports Illustrated
Cleveland still holds onto a playoff spot but with another loss in Week 14, they could potentially be on the outside looking in. Teams like the Colts, Steelers, and Packers are ahead of Cleveland — all teams I believe the Browns are better than. The difference is the Browns have lost two straight games and they need to stop the sky from falling.
Perhaps there will be better news for the Browns in the power rankings following Week 14 because Week 13 was not great for them.
