If you are a good team, there is only one thing you can do after a bad loss; beat the brakes off the next team you get.
By all accounts, it looks like the Miami Dolphins are a good football team and they were able to prove that today.
There may have been some cracks in the argument that the Dolphins were a scary playoff team in a loaded AFC (when healthy), but a 30-0 win over the Jets is hard to argue against.
This game was impressive for the Dolphins on two accounts. First, it is hard to hold a team in the NFL to zero points, even a team like the Jets (that, for what it is worth, had the offensive player of the week for the AFC last week in Zach Wilson). Second, it is very hard to score 30 points against the Jets.
The Dolphins weren't worried. They got after the Jets' offense from the opening whistle, and some timely turnovers and stifling defense kept New York from getting anything going all day.
The other end of this game was what impressed more. The Jets have been one of the best defensive teams in the league this year, and the Dolphins were playing without Tyreek Hill. This game had the makings to be a real stinker on offense for both teams.
That never happened.
Rather than getting bogged down on missing the best player in the league this season, Miami was able to make the most of some takeaways and good field position to score 30 points against a team that has only given up that many once before this season.
When you add in the fact that this was against a division rival, this result looks all the better.
While this still doesn't completely take away the sting of losing to a very beatable team like the Titans, a win like this does still go a long way to showing the Dolphins can be a very scary team in the playoffs when everything clicks.
Dolphins have no excuse in Week 13
This should be a straightforward win.
