The Indianapolis Colts have signed an edge rusher who was a 3rd round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

They announced the signing of Derek Rivers to their practice squad.

The New England Patriots drafted Rivers with the 83rd pick in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans in his career.

He hasn't been able to put up much success in the NFL. He has appeared in 24 games and has had 3.5 total sacks and seven QB hits in his career.

Rivers takes the place of Al-Quadin Muhammad on the Colts practice squad, who the NFL suspended on Wednesday. Muhammad had yet to dress for a game with the Colts this season, which likely means Rivers will have to wait to play his next game in the NFL.
