Cleveland Browns are active on the day before hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.
The Browns announced they have waived QB P.J. Walker and activated CB Cameron Mitchell from the injured reserve. Mitchell had spent the last four games on the IR.
Additionally, Cleveland elevated QB Joe Flacco from the practice squad. The hurtful news for the Browns is that rookie RT Dawand Jones (knee) has been ruled out for the Jaguars game.
Jones popped up on the injury report at the end of the week after tweaking his knee. The Browns will now have to roll with two backup offensive tackles in Week 14.
Walker started two games for the Browns and appeared in a total of six. The reserve quarterback completed just 48 percent of his passes and threw five interceptions to a single touchdown. Cleveland moved off of Walker and back to rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson to be the quarterback when Deshaun Watson went down for the season. When DTR suffered a concussion against the Broncos, Cleveland let Joe Flacco step in.
Mitchell coming back from the IR gives some depth in the defensive backfield, specifically behind Greg Newsome II in the slot.
Cleveland will be able to bring Flacco up from the practice squad once more before they have to decide on signing him to the active roster.
