Sure, there is a lot of controversy going on at the moment between the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL after a brutal loss to the Buffalo Bills. But there are some positives to take away from the game. First, the defense is still elite and one of the absolute best in the league.

Secondly, they have one of the best cornerbacks in the league on their team, and he showcased that one again. However, for some reason, L'Jarius Sneed continues to be overlooked and slept on. The Chiefs may want to keep it that way.

The Chiefs will have 17 unrestricted free agents entering the 2024 offseason, according to Spotrac, and while the biggest one's name is Chris Jones, let's not forget that L'Jarius Sneed is another guy looking to get a big payday. The Chiefs drafted Sneed out of Louisiana Tech a few years ago, and it's almost time for him to get his second contract, which means this is officially a contract season for him, and it's easily his best one yet.

This year, he has shut down opponents such as guys like A.J. Brown, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Keenan Allen, and even Davante Adams to an extent. Not many, if any, receivers have had good games against Sneed in 2023.

Sunday was much of the same.

According to Next Gen Stats, L'Jarius Sneed lined up across from Stefon Diggs on 23 of his 35 routes (65.7%) and gave up just one catch for three yards on five total targets. That is elite.

Sneed has played in shadow coverage more than any cornerback in the league this year, and it's no secret that it's working to perfection. It has been amazing, to say the least.

But, that just means the Chiefs will have some very tough decisions to make moving forward when the offseason comes. Not only will they have to deal with Sneed and possibly give him a contract, but Chris Jones, Drue Tranquill, Tommy Townsend, and a ton of others will be seeking new deals as well.
