The Tennessee Vols are hoping to pull off some magic late in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
According to On3's Gerry Hamilton, Tennessee traveled to Louisiana on Monday night for an in-home visit with five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, a Texas A&M Aggies commit.
McKinley, 6-foot-5/280 lbs from Lafayette, LA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 7 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana. He's been committed to Texas A&M since early September.
Tennessee isn't the only program that's visiting McKinley this week in hopes of flipping the elite defensive lineman. Hamilton noted that several other programs, including LSU, will also be in-home with McKinley this week.
The early signing period begins next week, but according to Hamilton, McKinley is expected to delay his signing until February, which gives the Vols (as well as the other programs hoping to flip McKinley) a chance in this recruiting battle.
Tennessee's 2024 recruiting class currently has 19 commits and is ranked No. 14 in the nation.
