The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans are set to tussle in an AFC showdown that could carry some playoff implications.
But the game may have gotten a little easier for Cleveland.
The Houston Texans have now officially ruled out rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is still recovering from a concussion.
With Stroud out, the game turns into Joe Flacco versus Case Keenum come Sunday.
The Browns aren't necessarily complaining.
Although, the Browns defense can't get too kiddy. Keenum threw for 229 yards and one touchdown in an overtime win against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.
If Cleveland doesn't come prepared, he could have a similar performance.
As the race for the AFC Wild Card slinks into its final weeks, the Browns will take any break they can get.
The Texans not having the rookie that has led them to contention in the AFC South is a break that Cleveland must capitalize on.
In his rookie season, Stroud has impressed. Stroud has been extremely impressive. He has completed 62.4% of his throws, tossing for 3,631 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions.
Cleveland may have lucked out.
