The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have one of the easier three-game stretches to end the 2023 NFL season, but that doesn't mean that every game will be a cakewalk.
The Saints and the Panthers aren't anything to worry about, but the Jaguars are a different story.
The Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence are not easy for any team to overcome. The Buccaneers will need to be ready if they want to finish this team with the right amount of momentum for the playoffs.
While they have been up and down plenty this season, the Jaguars under Trevor Lawrence have looked like one of the scarier teams in the AFC.
8-6 may not look like much on paper (even if it is better than what the Buccaneers have), but that team is still better than their record shows, and the Buccaneers will need to be ready to face off against one of the better quarterbacks in the league now if recent news continues to hold up.
Having to beat the Jags without their starting quarterback is one thing. Having to beat them to keep playoff hopes alive with their best player is another thing entirely.
It may have been nice to have an easier matchup, but that not being the table for the Bucs isn't a bad thing either. A chance to prove themselves against a contender like the Jags is a huge benefit in the long term if winning in the playoffs is a focus for this front office.
As tough as it may be to get news like this the day before a key game, the Bucs will at least get to prove themselves against one of the better teams on their schedule, and maybe this team still has some holiday magic left in it after all.
