Kevin Stefanski has a brand new challenge for his team following Week 16.

Cleveland Browns took care of business against the Houston Texans, 36-22, in a game that was more lopsided than the score showed.

But after the win, Stefanski knew that was just another piece to the puzzle and the biggest one to date remains in front of them.

If the Browns defeat the New York Jets at home on Thursday Night Football in Week 17, they’ll clinch just their second playoff appearance over the last couple of decades. In 2020 during the COVID season, the Browns won a playoff game in Kevin Stefanski’s first season. In the last couple of years, Cleveland has failed to make it to the postseason.

“You win on Thursday, you earn that second season,” Stefanski said in the locker room after the win. “That’s what’s at stake right now, you win on Thursday and you earn it.”

Cleveland needed the Buffalo Bills to lose in Week 16 and they would have clinched a spot. Win No. 11 on the season is the magic number for the Browns to clinch that playoff spot.

Also, in the locker room video, you will see Stefnansi give shout-outs to Amari Cooper, Joe Flacco, Za’Darius Smith, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and Duron Harmon. All of these players made impact plays against the Texans.

Vibes are high for the Browns on Christmas Day, but their biggest tasks of the season remain in front of them.
