When you look at it deeper, it has to be kind of embarrassing to the Browns what he’s revealing. At 38 years old, Flacco has the most passing yards in the first three starts with the team in Cleveland’s history.
Since taking over and starting for Cleveland, Flacco is averaging 313 yards per game as the starting quarterback. Through three starts, Flacco already sits at 939 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Flacco has tossed five interceptions but the good has far outweighed the bad with him.
For Cleveland, this shows just how bad the quarterback play has been in Cleveland for so long. Flacco used to lead the Baltimore Ravens to two wins a season against the Browns, now he is rewriting history in Cleveland.
In Week 15, Flacco threw for a blazing 374 yards against the Chicago Bears on 28 completions. The Browns are throwing the ball 44 times a game with Flacco under center. It is obvious they trust the veteran.
While Flacco may be making it obvious how bad Cleveland quarterbacks have been the last couple of decades, the Browns aren’t going to care since it means good things for the current.
