Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is sticking with "day-to-day" in describing wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase's injury status.
Chase, who suffered a separated shoulder Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings, had an MRI Monday, was not ruled out by Taylor for this Saturday's contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Initial reports on Chase stated he was indeed day-to-day with his AC joint sprain. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport later revealed the two-time Pro Bowl wideout is expected to miss Week 16's bout at Pittsburgh and could miss more time as well.
This could still be still the case, but as of now, Taylor isn't ready to keep Chase out of the plans for Saturday.
As expected, Chase is not practicing Tuesday afternoon. Fortunately for Cincinnati, he's the only player not practicing. Guard Alex Cappa, punt returner Charlie Jones, and center Ted Karras are all participating Tuesday after each suffered injuries against the Vikings. Linebacker Joe Bachie is also practicing after missing last Saturday with an oblique injury.
We'll get a better idea of Chase's status for Saturday as the week of practice progresses. It's highly unlikely he'll end up playing without practicing at least once in the coming days.
