The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Detroit Lions in a Wild Card weekend showdown Sunday.

The Rams dispatched the San Francisco 49ers 21-20 in Week 18, and enter the first round of the NFL playoffs against the Lions as underdogs.

Detroit is favored at -3.5, and the Rams' money line is +155, according to BetMGM.

It isn't entirely surprising to see the oddsmakers pick the Lions in Matthew Stafford's homecoming.

But that doesn't mean the Rams are going to roll over and give up. Los Angeles is one of the hottest teams in the NFL.

The Rams have won seven of the last eight games. Stafford is playing some of the best football of his career. And the rookies on the Rams' roster, namely Puka Nacua, give the offense an edge most teams don't have.

The professional game-pickers appear to agree.  Bookies.com recommends individuals pick the Rams in the Lions' first home playoff game since the 1990s.

"The Rams and Lions swapped franchise QBs three years ago. Matthew Stafford and the Rams won a Super Bowl. Jared Goff and the Lions are poised for a playoff run as the No. 3 seed in the NFC," Bill Speros writes. "The Lions finished 12-5 ATS this season and have the best record on the line combined of any NFL team since 2021.

"The Rams are 6-0 against NFC teams and are the NFC team. The Lions have to prove themselves in the postseason. Two things to expect Sunday night inside Ford Field: lots of noise and lots of points."

In a game that will be chalked full of emotions, the Rams will have to overcome the odds to come out victorious.
