Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis, a former Kentucky star, alluded to his college rivalry with the Tennessee Vols on Wednesday while discussing the intense rivalries that reside in the AFC South.
Levis was asked by AtoZ Sports' Sam Phalen how quickly he's developed a sense of those AFC South rivalries.
"I'd say the fans are maybe a little nicer than they were in college," said Levis. "But there's still that sense of inclusion with the fan base and how much they really care…but that's just what makes sports great. I embrace that."
A reporter followed up and asked if there was a particular fan base in college that was unkind.
"The SEC, especially, everyone is deep rooted in their faith with their team," said Levis. "If you're not with them, you're against them. But there's definitely some teams that had stronger words or stronger opinions."
"I know you guys are wanting me to say one (Tennessee, obviously), but I can't really say anything about them because they got the best of me my two years there," added Levis.
"If you're a Vol fan and you don't like me simply because you're a Vol fan, you better stay on that hill," continued Levis. "Don't change, don't switch up now. But I'm open to all fans of the Titans with open arms."
If you're a Vols fan who isn't a Titans fan, there's a good chance you're probably still not a fan of Levis. But he handled that line of questioning absolutely perfect, something that even the most diehard UT fan can respect.
It's easy to see why Vols/Titans fans have, for the most part, fully accepted the former Wildcat in Nashville.
