The Kansas City Chiefs hit the practice field for the second time this week ahead of their regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.
There weren't many significant developments on the injury side of things. One player returned to practice, two players saw their practice participation downgraded and two players saw themselves removed from the injury report entirely.
Here's a quick breakdown of a few developments.
Kadarius Toney and Donovan Smith are on the back burner again
The Chiefs haven't had starting LT Donovan Smith healthy since the Week 13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. WR Kadarius Toney hasn't played since the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots.
Both players practice in some capacity on Wednesday, and both have since been downgraded to non-participants in practice. It's looking more and more likely that both players will miss the final week of the season.
The team is being cautious with both injuries as they should be. For Smith, he regretted playing through injury with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a season ago.
Toney clearly needs to be 100% healthy to execute at the highest possible ability.
That said, this would be a great week to get both players back in the swing of things ahead of the postseason. We'll see what the final practice of the week brings.
The latest injury report from practice:

LT Donovan Smith | Neck | FP | DNP |

KEY: DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation | NIR = Not injury related
Observations:
- Both CEH and Justyn Ross have overcome their illnesses and were removed from the injury report.
- A second-straight limited practice for Travis Kelce suggests that things might not be so cut-and-dry in terms of him reaching his 1,000-yard season milestone in Week 18.
